So we’ve all over the last year been listening to and loving the likes of Post War Years and Micachu & The Shapes. We all remember the days when The Whip were amazing and we danced ironically to Klaxons. We look forward to the future exploits of Delphic and The Drums. We like our up and coming German bands like Frittenbude and Bratze. And we obviously adore the project of Neu! founder Michael Rother, Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Benjamin Curtis of School of Seven Bells who are set to perform the songs of Neu! under the moniker of Hallogallo2010. We do like our art too. Is there anything that Dockville Festival in Hamburg doesn’t offer us?
What better than to spend a weekend this August in the shadows of the Hamburg harbour enjoying some of the finest and most influential music out there? Its location adds a great dynamic to the creative ambience, and this is undoubtedly aided by its unique line-up. With its avant-garde spirit and a great sense of community, a sense of peaceful anarchism is displayed.
Dockville is far more than a festival – Dockville is the idea of an alternative presentation of music, arts, culture and educational work.
