VOTE.

It’s finally here, Election day. Wahoo?

As our readership are mainly first time voters I’ve attached a link to the BBC website where they have provided and IDIOT proof guide for first time voters…

Seriously we’re 18 or over not 8 or under.

It even has diagrams like this….

Here’s how we see it:

You can:

vote for him, him, that one, the other one, the token racist one, a socialist, her, a hamster, and him.
Basically there’s choice. Then there’s the local elections too! Aren’t we being spoiled for choice, eh?
So take that list you just had and triple it. Important thing to note, you’re not voting for personality, you’re voting for either a little whipping boy who will toe the party line. But hey, sounds like fun? I think so. For me, voting is pretty much a very one sided and revolutionary take on noughts and crosses. The crosses always win though. If you’re alternative & punk (you think you are, but you’re not) you can spoil the ballot. There really is nothing more triumphant about turning up and writing in sprawled capitals: YER BASTARDS…

Politics in the UK is a funny one. There’s enough spin to outdo a washing machine, enough Party consensus to mirror that of Mugabe and his benign democratic dictatorship and enough little shitheads in office running up to a photo of Blair/Thatcher/Lloyd George and worshipping it in the hope that they, one day, may emulate such disgraceful bastions of British politics.

Oh and have you seen The Sun today? It really has gone downhill, and that’s purely on the basis that there isn’t a topless girl until PAGE 7! What is that all about? Indeed that brings me onto my next point. How has there not been an undoctored topless photo of Gordon Brown on Page 3? Murdoch would have guaranteed a Conservative landslide with that.

Oh well, have fun at the ballot box today. It may feel important, and it is to a certain extent. But the tight bearhug between media moguls and Whitehall schnauzers will not relent on the basis of today’s decision.
